The
Literacy Center of West
Michigan (formerly known
as the Kent County Literacy
Council) welcomes financial
donations from individuals
and corporations. Each
and every contribution
helps accomplish our goal
of building a healthy,
vibrant community through
literacy. You
can help us continue our
efforts and strengthen
our programs by making
a tax-deductible donation
now by clicking
here.
The
demand for our services
has never been greater;
in 2006, we helped approximately
600 area adults improve
their literacy skills and
language through our three
programs. While
we take pride in this accomplishment, with
your support we
can fund the training of
additional tutors and reduce
- or eliminate - the waiting
list for our Adult Tutoring
and English as a Second
Language programs.
With
your support,
our Customized Workplace
English Program can help
companies and organizations
in West Michigan to improve
the literacy and English
language skills of employees
and residents.
With
your support,
we can bring important
family literacy nights
to more local families
than ever before.
Here’s
how your gift can help:
- $30 = Provides
one manual for one tutor
- $250 = Trains
one of our 100 new volunteer
tutors recruited each
year
- $1,200 = Funds
all materials, programming
and operational costs
for 1 of our 400 annual
adult learners in the
Adult Tutoring Program
- $2,500 = Funds
one of eight family literacy
nights
Recognized
by the Better

and 17 percent supporting
administrative management. Detailed
