Adult Literacy and Technology Network
: Information on using technology to enhance adult literacy.

Dave's ESL Cafe: Fun, creative site for both ESL teachers and students with interactive quizzes, a graffiti wall, student and teacher e-mail exchange, literacy software for sale, and a help center. Questions about grammar, writing, vocabulary, and phonics can be answered quickly by teachers from around the world. "Dave" Sperling is an ESL instructor at California State University.

Literacy Assistance Center: Site provides technical assistance, training, and referrals to literacy programs in New York City. Sample lesson plans and ideas on incorporating technology into lessons; newsletters, literacy publications, and a section on jobs in literacy.

Literacynet: On-line interactive network for communication, educational materials, and sharing of information about adult literacy among eighteen western states and Pacific islands and island groups.

Literacy.org: Site is jointly sponsored by the International Literacy Institute and the National Center on Adult Literacy at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Literacy programs and a comprehensive and searchable database of publications. Many links to other literacy organizations and resources on the Web.

Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth: State of Michigan’s resource for adult education.

National Center for Family Literacy: Works with educators and community builders through an array of services to design and sustain programs that meet the most urgent educational needs of disadvantaged families.

National Institute for Literacy (NIL): National resource on current, comprehensive literacy research, practice, and policy. The LINCS-The Literacy Information and Communication System (regional site links: Northwest, Midwest, Eastern, Western/Pacific) is one of the services provided by NIL. The regional sites are updated daily and contain a wealth of useful information on all aspects of literacy.

ProLiteracy America: National literacy organization that provides certification for volunteer literacy organizations and instructional materials and support.
